BACKGROUND
SIXFIX Owner/Operator Cornelius Göritz' initial training with classic Porsches was under a distinct internship at Porsche AG in Stuttgart Germany, working within the renowned Exclusive and Classic Department which at the time was still located within Factory Werk 1. After completion, Göritz moved to the US to begin his professional career at Canepa Motorsport in Northern California rebuilding and tuning classic and historically significant air-cooled 911s, slantnose Turbos, 959s & 935s. But it was Göritz’ desire to continue learning that quickly drew him back to Germany to undergo a formal apprenticeship set to the high standards of Handwerkskammer (the distinguished German Guild System) with Mezgerwerk in Hamburg Germany. (now known as Hoeing Autosport/Wickedsixes) It was Mezgerwerk's specialty in building and tuning of the now world famous air-cooled Hans Mezger designed engines that drew Göritz interests. At the conclusion of his formal apprenticeship, Göritz relocated back to Southern California where he continued honing his Porsche specific expertise at Benton Performance in Anaheim as their lead in house 911 technician. Shortly thereafter, Göritz accepted an offer to work direct within Porsche Motorsport NA where his precision craft and skills continued to sharpen with work on acclaimed 917s, 962s, chassis and engine projects including GT3 Cup cars & GT3R engines & gearboxes some of which competed in the IMSA race series. During his time at PMNA, Goritz promotion to shop manager of 'prototype projects' for Porsche Engineering further solidified his broad knowledge of Porsche practice new and old. But alas, the time had finally come for Cornelius to establish SIXFIX. His new venture would allow him to provide his knowledge and expertise learned through a solid history of Porsche specific training and selective work to his fellow Porsche enthusiasts near and far.
